Authors may voluntarily submit manuscripts to the Editor for review. Before submitting an article, please consider the following suggestions. Manuscripts received in compliance with LPQ specifications will serve to expedite the processing and prompt reviewing for early publication. Submitted manuscripts should be grammatically correct and formatted according to APA, 6th edition guidelines, which includes spelling, punctuation, sentence structure, and the mechanical elements of arrangements, spacing, length, and consistency of usage in form and descriptions, prior to submission.

Pre-publication
LPQ will not consider manuscripts which have already been published or are being considered by another journal. Authors must include a statement with their letter that the manuscript has not been published and is not under consideration elsewhere.

Handling of Manuscripts

All manuscripts are acknowledged upon receipt. Review is performed out as promptly as possible. The manuscript will be reviewed by at least three members of the Editorial Review Board, which takes usually no more than two months. When a decision for publication or rejection is made, the senior author or author designated to receive correspondence is notified. At the time of notification, the author may be asked to make certain revisions in the manuscript, or the Editor may submit suggested revisions to the author for approval. Authors will be required to complete a transfer of copyright for each article accepted for publication.

All papers should adhere to Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, Sixth Edition

Applies to Book Reviews
LPQ accepts reviews of current scholarly books on topics related to research, policy, or practices in the field.  Book reviews may be submitted or invited to either themed or open-topic issues of the journal.  Preference will be given in the review process to book review essays that comment on two or more related books.  Book review essays should not exceed 3,800 words and should include city, state, publisher, and year of the book's publication.  An abstract of 150 words or less and keywords are required for book review essays.  Reviews of single books should not exceed 1,900 words.  At the beginning of the text please include title, author, publisher, city, date, and page numbers of the book(s) under review.  Because the editors submit book reviews to blind review, writers must exclude authors' names, institutions, and clues to the authors' identities except as citations.  Further questions can be posed to the editors at the email and postal addresses noted above.
